It works!

Clip to ScrapBook
I used this idea and it is great! I was apprehensive about subbing for fourth grade and I tried the award paired with a three-skittles (when the school does not allow candy I pair it with five minutes of free-time) reward
at the end of the day. I set up a point system on the board and they had to earn so many points. It worked out great. They really tried hard. Then I thought they might think my award was stupid but so far they have liked it more than any other class. I think they realize how much their teacher will appreciate it that they were good.

I also liked making the awards. I used card

two different colors of card stock with a computer-printed white piece of paper glued in the middle of it like an award. I even got to use my scissors that make neat designs when you cut with them. I am very proud of them and I think that helps me "sell" them. I also think it is a great way to make the teacher feel good. Plus, if they put it up on their wall or bulletin board and other teachers see it you have a good marketing strategy going. They will have access to your name without even having to look for it.
