Clip to ScrapBook
I have seen administrators discuss kids by their full names in teacher lounges, lunchrooms, and in the main office. Of course, some severe behavior problem children are so noticeable that anyone and everyone feels that discussing
their behavior is only common knowledge. I sometimes feel that if children are in proper placements-EBD, FMD, Special Ed Resource rooms etc, chances are teachers will not be as stressed and frustrated. I think it is EBD and FMD students placed in regular ed rooms that causes teachers to gripe in break rooms and lunchrooms. We are all human. But we should try to follow rules and
not discuss students unless we are asked by another teacher or principal: "How was Johnny in class today? Did he threaten to fight Mark?" I guess we should ONLY mention a child's name when ASKED by a teacher that has an interest in that student like an EBD or homeroom teacher???
