How do you become a sub?
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
Aloha!

Becoming a substitute varies from district to district and from state to state in requirements. Some areas are in such critical need for substitutes (such as ours) that they are using college students to sub. I was not sure, at first, how this would work out, but our college students have possessed a wonderful amount of energy, patience, and optimism when dealing with our elementary school children.

I would contact the Human Resources division of the school district where you would like to substitute teach. They may have a training program which is designed especially for subs, as ours does. It teaches you all of the ins and outs of subbing.

Good luck!
