You are going to do just fine, Lori! Subbing really isn't all that hard once you get your feet wet.

Other things to prepare for first day:

1. Have clothing ready in the evening that you would wear to school. That will save the mad scramble in the morning, if you get a late call. (I sometimes did!)

2. Most teachers will leave everything you need, so generally you don't need to take anything with you.

3. Dress comfortably. You will be on your feet all day!

4. Teachers vary as to what materials they use. Most teachers I know use handouts for their subs, although I prefer to have the sub use a textbook when she's in for me.

Good luck!
