Will you ever get called?
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
Yes, you will! You are brand new to subbing, so it takes a little while to become established. The principals and teachers don't know you yet or how well you are going to sub.

If you have a sub caller in your district,
you could call her up to break the ice. Introduce yourself and tell her a little about yourself. Tell her how eager you are to get started. I can remember that during the slow times when I wasn't subbing that much I'd call the sub caller to remind her that I was interested.

Teachers and principals tend to have favorite subs. These subs get called over and over again. You will

just have to get your foot into the door the first few times and establish a good rapport with the teachers. Once you have done this, they will request that they have you and only you!

Good luck.
