No, not at all. I have a friend who got her first teaching job when she was 46. Many people switch to teaching after having worked in another career. They are respected for your wisdom and experience. Don't worry about age. Check out the "Second Career" site here at Proteacher. A lot of older teachers who are just getting started go there to chat.
