I think this sounds like a good idea! It's something that actually SHOWS the progress that each child has made, which is totally appropriate for children this age. In Kentucky, we do a portfolio-type thing for each child -- KELP-- which the children place different pieces of work for certain indicators. However, most parents do not get to see the work until the end of the 3rd grade year. I think that it is a wonderful idea! I may try something like this next year with my kindergarteners!
