teacher leaving
By Bertie

Clip to ScrapBook
I like your idea of each child presenting a flower - they did that at my retirement, and the vase was my gift. Also, another teacher helped my kids write a book for me, one page per child that was a nice keepsake.

Two
more suggestions came to mind right away.. she'd like to know that she won't be forgotten. So how about some hard cover books for the library with her name on a bookplate inside - maybe copies of her favorite read alouds? For one person who was leaving, who'd been a science teacher, we named the science room room after him - we had a sign made on corrugated plastic at a local sign
shop, and it wasn't too expensive but looked good.

When I retired and got nice cards from my students and their parents, it occurred to me that I would have liked to hear from former students too. Maybe there is a way that children who have been in her classroom in the past could be invited to send her a card c/o the school that could be presented to her that day as well. I know I would love that.:D
