In my district
By teach2all

Clip to ScrapBook
they had purchased and trained teachers 3-5 w/ this program. There was a big write up in the local paper b/c they really loved this program. I researched it on line and purchased a single kit for k-2 to use w/ my first
graders. I trained myself (really not hard), and called the local group that funded the program for the district and told them that I really believed we should catch the children before they hit 3rd grade and that they should consider funding the lower grades. They took me up on it and have followed through on this.
Personally, I love it. It is not an "end all be all" by any means,
but it is a great tool.
As for who it works for- students that are missing basic phonological skills. It will not work for those "gray area" students. I use it w/ my students that are working in a D or low C range and I've seen them make huge gains.
PM me if you have anymore specific questions. I would be glad to help.
