Partner Reading

I think reading on level is more important. With partner reading, one is either too low or one too high, unless you are paring up folks who read at the same level (which I've never seen done).

Also, most kids who
are really strong readers, resent being paired with slower/lower readers. I've don't recall ever using partner reading for anything except a child I had with a reading disability and I'd pair her with a strong reader during science and social studies to read the text/lesson together so the girl with the disability could participate in the level. She could comprehend it, she just couldn't
read it... but other than a situation like that, I just don't like it.

As someone who was/is a strong reader, I think I would feel as if I were being slowed down, or having to read material that was too easy for me.. which, IMHO, is teaching ME nothing!
