Partner Reading
By Teach3abc

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm a huge fan of partner reading. If one student is reading and the other is following along with his/her finger "tracking" you know the students are getting a double dose of the passage. When they're reading on their own, you never know what's going on.

How about making a schedule of what to do each day at a station?

Monday - Do a 'cold read' with each partner. Graph in blue
Tuesday - Record yourself and partner on a tape recorder.
Wednesday - Listen to each recording and follow along
Thurday - Listen to the tape again. Do a 'warm read' and graph how much they've gained in red.
Friday - Book of choice instead of leveled reader.

Yep, I'm a big fan of fluency and stations. :s)
