Can you sneak supplies from school?
By Kat's Mom

Clip to ScrapBook
If so, my kids LOVE to hunt for big, flat rocks and use the school's tempera paints to paint scenes on them. Also, I like to take big lengths of bulletin board paper home for them to draw diaramas, trace themselves, etc.

Do you have family members who could e-mail with him? Also, any relatives far away that he could correspond with that could send him little things from there, and vice versa???
Are you near any creeks? I love to put old shoes on with my kids and take "creek walks" down the creek. Sometimes, we take cool whip containers and paintbrushes and go down the creek, pick
up rocks, and brush critters into cool whip containers to look at for a while. We let them go before we leave.
Another fun, cheap activity: give him a roll of masking tape and a stack of newspapers. Challenge him to create a model of a building or a bridge by rolling, folding the paper.
Do you have a dog? Maybe he needs a pet (a cheap, run of the mill, friendly mutt!) from the pound to keep him company!
Let us know some of the things you try and how they work out!
