Changing Grade Levels By calexa2228

I think it's best to work with adults that you enjoy. Working with children all day long lends itself to needing solid adult relationships. Six years of teaching a grade level is long enough. It's time for a change. Go for| it. If it's only one grade level up or down, it will probably be very similar to what you are teaching now. Change is good. If you are changing from a higher grade level to a much lower one, 5th to 1st, think about this change for awhile. 5th graders are much different from 1st graders. 1st graders are much too needy for my taste, I don't like working with the little ones as much as I | | do the older children, just a matter of taste. But you may enjoy it and be pleasantly surprised. Either work it out with your grade level, or make a move. Successful teachers are successful in any grade they teach because being a teacher is not what you do, it's who you are!
