fun gifts

How about a gift basket tailored for them? Doesn't have to cost a lot and you can get really craetive. I've done these

Sundae Bar - two fancy ice cream dishes & spoons, a gift certificate to a local ice cream shop
for a 1/2 gallon, some toppings, and cloth napkins.

Movie night: gift certificate to the local dvd rental and pizza place, gourmet popping corn, some nostalgic candies, high end soda, and a popcorn bowl.

Relax and Read: a selection of paperbacks, a beach towel, fancy mixes for lemonades or similar, a pair of colorful outdoor "glasses", and cookies

Linens and
Things currently has a "Pizza Kit" complete with stone, spices, pizza cutter, etc. for $14.99 online plus you can add a 20% coupon. Get one of those and a set of "pizza plates" (triangle shaped with fun designs).

Pasta Basket - gourmet pastas and sauces, a good loaf of bread, a set of pasta bowls, and a bottle of wine

Around the World: (this one is easy if you go somewhere like CostPlus or Pier One) a variety of goodies from various parts of the world in a pretty basket

I usually get the dishes somewhere like Ross or Tuesday Morning. Since you only need a couple, you can usually find super-bargains on partial sets.
