automated systems

Sharon: our system has recently started including the message "Please note: this assigment may be altered to meet the needs of the school". I imagine what lead to this was a teacher thinking he or she was teaching grade
12 English only to find out that they also need them to cover 2 periods of Math or some such thing. I can imagine your surprise at arriving to find a bunch of little kindergarten faces looking up at you but, on the other hand, isn't our stock in trade (along with mind reading, trouble shooting, instant name memorization and eternal patience) supposed to be adapatiblity? (vbg). I don't
mind an assignment being changed at the last minute, unless it is something like phys ed being thrown at me (that's a real safety issue, IMO, and I am never properly dressed to teach gym). So far, I've found our system to be great. The only glitch, really, is at the other 'user' end - teachers or administrators not giving enough info - just say "Central Secondary School" but not naming the subject or grade. The more information I have (even if the assignment does get changed), the happier I feel going into it.
