look at the children
By knamom

Clip to ScrapBook
you know your children better than any test ever will. Have they grown, matured, and learned this year? I know we all look at test scores to tell us how we are as teachers, but in reality, when we do that, we forget about
the child. They could have been having an off day, questions may have been worded differently from what they are used to... There are so many factors in, as the PP said, one day. Look at the year as a whole. I know it is easier said than done, because I too look at the scores most of the time.

Also, remember that many times first year teachers get some of the lower kids,
because, at least in our district, parents can strike teachers, and I know a lot of parents of the "smart" kids will strike first year teachers because they don't know them.

Be sure to do something nice for yourself this weekend, and try to forget about work for awhile!!
