Love it...

Clip to ScrapBook
I fell in love with teaching working in a Montessori preschool. It was so awesome to see the kids initiate their own learning and discovery, and be guided by their teachers. After that, I found an assistant position in a
public Montessori charter in CA and truly found my passion. We incorporated Montessori materials with the adopted district curriculum, and it was amazing to see those students soar.

You will learn about Montessori method working as an assistant. Normally, the pay is less than other schools, unless you can find a public charter like my old school. In Montessori schools, the kids
are not babied but encouraged to do things by themselves, even cleaning up themselves after a bathroom accident. There are some whole group lessons, some small group lessons, and lots of time for the kids to work on "jobs" (materials they have been introduced to around the room that they can further discover and master on their own).

The one downside about working at Montessori school is that when you do go over to a regular school, you will find it very confining in comparison. But, it is definitely worth the experience and will help you bring great, new ideas to wherever you end up.
