The teacher going on sabbatical should definitely remove all her belongings. I'm not sure, but I also think when the teacher comes back from the sabbatical they may not be hired back in the same position as when they left. Therefore, all personal belongings should be removed I would hope!! Plus I don't think it's fair for the replacement teacher to be responsible for another teacher's belongings boxed or not.
Maybe speak to your principal about putting her things in storage other than your classroom.
