We have a nice group of PTO parents. They organize a Fall Festival in the fall, sort of like a carnival, and the money raised goes to the teachers to use in the classroom (they give us all a Walmart giftcard usually $75. each - we turn in the receipt showing it was used on the classroom). They have a Silent Auction in the spring, and that money does the same thing - but we have a special account to order things with a PO for our classroom - we got $150. each from that.
Other little things include "happies" in our mailboxes occasionally (Mardi Gras bead at Mardi Gras, chocolate heart at Valentine's | |
Day, etc...). Makes us smile. :)
During Teacher Appreciation week, they put a happy in our box each day, then have a big luncheon one day that week.
They know how much money teachers put into the classroom, so their main efforts are in fundraising for us. Very nice!
