I find it interesting that you are contemplating not having a word wall and that some of the posters have done away with their word walls. Our Reading First program won't even allow us to have one. We can only have the current week's words on our focus wall. So my students have personal word walls and word books. My walls are "teaching walls" and change constantly.

lenarmc, where is your RF school? It seems that these RF people can't agree on word walls.
