It's a BS that there's shortage of teachers in Florida, especial in Ft. Myers area. I am a certified teacher, and have been trying to get a job in a public school for years. My impression is that unless you know someone, like a principal or assistant principal, your chances are very slim. Hundreds of teachers work as substitutes or do other jobs, like retail. Don't listen to what they say and write in newspapers. From my personal experience it is a total BS.
