Mine didn't come with clips for the big books but to be honest I've never needed them. The angle is such that the books stay open. Both sides are magnetic white boards (one side is lined). There are also the rings on top for chart paper. The shelf underneath holds lots of stuff and the bins in the bottom are great. I think this easel was worth every penny. Next year the other teachers on my team are hoping to write a grant to get their own. Everybody loves mine.
