Our PTA bought several of those type easels (as in PP's link) and they were only $100. Maybe if you do some searching you can find one at a cheaper price than $249. Ours is magnetic board on one side and dry erase on the other. It didn't have a shelf across the upper middle so I purchased a 3 foot section of the wire shelving (like in closets) and laid it across the brackets and used wire closers to hold it on). That gave me a place to store baskets of dry erase markers, manipulatives for the magnetic side, etc.

BTW, I love it!
