I use sort of a primary colors theme along with a hunter green. I have curtains in the windows and denim pillows in my reading area. I also put red placemats on top of my 2 2-drawer filing cabinets that serve as additional work areas. One holds my candy jar and the other has a lamp and some "teacher" decorations given to me by previous students. I also use fabric on my bulletin boards and found a lightweight denim that I love. It is neutral and goes with the casual theme. I used red gingham border on one side of the room and yellow gingham on the other. I like to use books to decorate the shelves too and love the ones you can get from Kohl's that come with stuffed animals of the characters to sit next to the books. I also have plants.
