no recess

I haven't been in a school with recess for ages. In an urban neighborhood with weird people around (druggies, dealers, homless) and gang members, safety is a priority. For field day or other occasional events, someone usually volunteers to clean up the broken glass, garbage and whatever beforehand. It's a lot of work.
