Clip to ScrapBook
I currently work with several Teach for America teachers. In the past, I have not been very impressed with the program. I found that the teachers lacked the basic skills necessary to be successful. They just didn't know HOW to teach. Several years passed where I had no contact with TFA teachers. Then, last year, we hired several. As the previous poster stated, things have changed. They have a strong support team and quality, intensive training. Frequently their training is better than what is being done in our local colleges. I would strongly encourage you to investigate the program. The TFA teachers I'm working with now are some of the best teachers I've worked with in my 18 years of teaching.
