There are different boxes to choose from. Initially, they only had fictional books. Then they offered Non Fiction books. Now, they're offerring content area boxes. They
And lastly, all the books are actual literature - not publisher created. These are actual books/series children can find in stores, libraries. I find some published boxed sets lack "kid appeal" and can be boring and stale. These really aren't. And , no, I don't work for scholastic. I have added selected books from Rigby and Newbridge and added them to my leveled boxes during those years between new boxes to add more content and non fiction on my own. I've been using them for about 11 years now (adding as the years go on). I cannot imagine teaching guided reading without it. I do have to warn that they are a bit pricey (about $250ish a box).
