Transfer

In my district senority matters if jobs are being cut or someone needs to be transferred, involuntarily, out of a position (for example if one less teacher is needed in a grade level for the next year- the least senority teacher has to go). However, for requested transfers in our district, it is up to the adminstration whether they want to transfer you or not. If you are in a job that requires a specialized certificate and is in high demand, in our district, you would have a tough time transferring out.
