Clip to ScrapBook
i have to say that my mother -who is hispanic-has green eyes and light brown/blonde hair and she far more Hispanic than anyone else. I have also had students pulled from my class because I am Hispanic-regardless of my teaching skills. My friend who teaches next door, is Caucasin (sp) and married to a lovely Hispanic man, is often treated poorly until parents realize she is not Hispanic...We teach at an upper middle class school, who also has a growing contingent of low socio-economic students... So i have seen it from both sides, but her comment alone would have made me either raise he11 or make it very clear her stupidity should not be tolerated. :D
