Yarn activity measuring digestive system
By kellihenry

Clip to ScrapBook
I just did this activity with my 5th grade students. You can use yarn to measure each students digestive system. I googled "measuring digestive system with yarn" and it came up with the instructions. You will need to use a different color of yarn for each section and there is a different way to measure each section (mouth, esophogus, stomach, small intestines, and large intestines). After measuring each section of the system, they tie them together and can see how long the actual digestive system is. My kids loved it. We also watched a video from United Streaming, but the ones suggested above sound good. Good luck.
