I have had difficult students in the past and other teachers around me will say "he's lucky he's not in my class because my kids would pick on him and really let him have it!" Well, the truth is, no one in my class gets "picked on" that's not the behavior I model....I try to model patience and understanding and compassion and wallah! before you know it you have 22 little counselor/teacher/mom/dads and they are cheering the struggler along! It's great! I love it!
I truly feel like I have been successful when one student gives another the support he/she needs. You must have modeled a lot of compassion and caring! Go YOU and Go Bobby!
