I have been there

Clip to ScrapBook
That is such a difficult situation to be in. I was in your shoes last year. I had a student who really had a terrible family life. He got himself into a lot of trouble and was a behavior problem in the classroom. Despite
this, I absolutely loved this kid! He came from a very unstable background and I noticed that things started to get worse at the end of the year. I constantly reminded him that he could always come see me the following year. This year he came to see me everyday! I was able to talk to him about a lot of the problems he didn't feel comfortable talking to me about last year. He actually moved
to another school last month and that was probably the most difficult goodbye I have said to a student. He has been writing me short letters every few weeks just so I will keep writing back to him. Although I didn't feel like a made a huge difference in his life at the time, and I still really worry about what will happen to him in the future, I think just being there for him really has actually made a difference.
