terracotta pots, fill the pots with river rocks, and then make the flower pens. I usually have them make about 3 pens then I get these green plant sticks to make a few more flowers so it looks like a bouquet. I've done this even with 5th graders. Moms love them. It can be a bit expensive though. Usually Michael's have good deals on their flowers. If you have a Hobby Lobby in your town....go there - they are usually cheaper! Hope this helps! :)
