low readers in content
By MrsM

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach special reading, and I just want to put in a hint to use reading materials at each student's reading level. When you know their reading levels, get the librarian to help you. If the topic is habitats, get some non-fiction books at 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade reading levels. Each student will learn what he/she needs to and it will not be such a struggle for the lower readers. If students show comprehension by making posters, making dioramas, brochures, giving talks, whatever, then the lower readers still learn from the other kids if they went more in-depth in the subject.
