my teaching partner (6th) and i like it.

i'm not sure what you mean by skills based vs. comprehension....

skills are part of comprehensions as far as i'm concerned:
drawing conclusions, sequencing, cause/effect....without
all these skills, how do you understand what you've read?

for the most part, the series hits all of our state-tested reading skills. (we also use novels to supplement)

we like how it is pretty repetitious in that the words are used in every story and little book (love those little books!) the stories/articles are pretty entertaining/interesting.
our kids seem into the readings.

we don't use every single piece of Treasures and we don't use every thing for each story/unit. this is our 2nd year using the series.
