    running out of time

    I think there are so many exciting activities and stimulating ideas out there that we make the mistake of wanting to do all of them, and we just can't. You'll have to pick some things to try out this year, and save some others to try next year - n fact, keep trying new ideas as long as your are teaching, it will keep you young!

    My best advice is to plan ahead...I have a very general year plan for each subject (VERY general) I made in August, a more organized and co ordinated weekly plan I usually put together Friday evening, and a very detailed daily plan I do each afternoon for tomorrow. If you don't already have a weekly overview - with every lesson for the week on one (ledger sized) page, that would be a good first step to help you keep your eyes on the goal - accomplishing the curriculum by years end.
