School and District Committees
By ConnieWI

Clip to ScrapBook
Curriculum decisions are made at the district level. Anything having to do with curriculum, changes in course work, etc. are done by district level committees (Curriculum Coordinating Committee, Math Committee, Phy Ed Committee,
etc.) This is voluntary and unpaid because it is usually done during the school day although sometimes there are after-school meetings. Any curriculum work done during the summer is paid.

Building level committees include:
--theme committee (Our building has a yearly theme. This committee finds materials, slogans, awards, plans building celebration days, etc.)
--B.
L. T. (Building Learning Team - meets monthly to discuss building issues)
--Sunshine Committee (takes care of flowers, cards, and gifts for all occassions...deaths, births, birthdays, Secretary's Day, volunteer's luncheon, etc.)

My building also does birthday buddies. If you want to participate you can, but not all do. You get someone else's name and bring the treat on their birthday. I like it because I do not have to break the bank on my birthday to feed a staff of thirty-five.
