Switch grade levels if you must, but don't get out of teaching altogether!!

My evaluator said the same thing to me after my first experience. She blamed it on my background, and told me never to teach Kinder or Pre-K. My degree was in Early Childhood. It felt like she was saying I wasn't "really" a teacher. After she had been one of the main ones teaching me how to teach! I felt betrayed, because I knew she was basing her comments on whatever the cooperating teacher felt like saying about me, without considering the big picture.

Anyway, my advice to you is, go ahead and finish that student teaching in the fall, and pray for a better cooperating teacher. But first, get physically well, because your health should come first!
