my thoughts By MrsM

I have read all your posts about this ST and it's truly unbelievable. I keep remembering my own experience, way back when. The total semester was 16 weeks, and I spent 8 weeks apiece in each of two assignments. The first| one I eased into, observing for a few days, meeting all the staff, running copies and getting supplies so I would become comfortable in the building and understand what's available to me. I took over reading, then after a few days another subject, etc. I think I had the whole day for the last 5 weeks of that assignment, and probably about 7 weeks of the next assignment. I planned all lessons, | | made supplement materials, corrected all papers and entered everything into the gradebook. I took attendance and lunch count. Everything. I can sense several teachers reading this and nodding their heads. I totally understand why you've held her from taking over before the testing. I think I'd have done the same.
I've overheard in the staff lunch area, some comments about former student teachers in our school. They were given good grades and good reports, then behind their backs the truth is whispered, saying how terrible the person was. HappyHiker, I applaud you for really trying with this woman, and for being so honest with her supervisor and on evaluations. Really, don't back down! We don't need this person being hired in any district!
