Book ideas
By L.P.

Clip to ScrapBook
Some lessons using picture books can fill a day or two. And 5/6 are capable of doing some really good work. Have them compare and contrast different versions of books, i.e. Caps for Sale and The Hatseller and the Monkeys (Baba Wague Diakite, author). They could make a nice little paper out of it or for an even shorter lesson, make a Venn diagram. It could be individual work or a class discussion. Cinderella stories also work well. On page 3 of this board, I outlined a lesson on that for Melissa. You might check it out. The Book Board on this site would probably give you lots more ideas too.
