less than ideal experience

Though I don't know exactly what you mean by "flop," I'll share a little about the worst student teaching experience I had...

I have known I am supposed to teach since I was three years old. Teacher training was more
of a formality for me, anyway.

That said, I had a six week placement in a private school, with a cooperating teacher who was going through several personal struggles at the time. I'm not going to place all the blame on her, but it would have helped had she been a little more understanding of what it's like to come in as an ST... anyway, my university evaluator (a professor I'd
known for five years) ended up mostly siding with my cooperating teacher, and almost didn't pass me.

Fortunately, my next (seven-week) placement was great, my cooperating teacher was easy to work with, and I was able to redeem myself in my evaluator's eyes.

I am now in my fourth year of teaching, and I love it. My students are successful, and while I know I can improve in many areas, I no longer feel like a failure. Don't give up just because of a bad experience.
