I hear your pain....totally. I had that kind of class last year...and amazingly they were also 4th graders. I was counting the days till the end somewhere around October..

The good news...I made it and so will
you. I tried everything with that class also..it would work for a day or two and then right back to their old ways. Some of my good kids would tell me not to worry and that they were like that last year too. That didn't help me but at least I realized it wasn't me.

Our school has a teacher who uses Love & Logic he claims that it works even with the tough classes. I use it

to some extent in my class when things are not going the way I want. However, I am teaching third grade this year. He uses these "One liners" when kids want to argue with him. He says they work. I am not sure any of that would help you ...but just know this....YOU WILL MAKE IT!!
