healthy snacks
By imatchr2

Clip to ScrapBook
I don't teach in the U.S., so I'm not really sure what a title school is, but I am assuming that it means a school in a lower economic area. You can correct me if I am wrong with that. I am a firm believer that a lower
income does not always have to mean poor food choices by parents. Because that is what it is...a choice. Take a look in the grocery aisles--many "unhealthy" food choices are often not that cheap. It's cheaper to make cookies and muffins and be in control of the ingredients than it is to buy pre-packaged products. A bag of apples is not that expensive, and that and a bottle of water (reusable)
is a pretty good and inexpensive snack. Kids don't need more than that at snack time anyway--especially if, as you say, they are being fed breakfast and lunch at school. (I'm assuming breakfast).
