then, if one becomes out of hand, ship him/her off immediately, work-in-hand to designated staff member for monster child X. (make sure you farm the kids out evenly so each helper teacher only gets one--with the agreement that if the kids poses a problem there, he goes straight to the office.) i know EXACTLY how you feel (okay, again, maybe not to your extent), but it is so frustrating when those kiddos demand so much of your time, energy, and patience and everyone else suffers. get rid of them! and you should be able to move along nicely. (and hopefully it will make a difference and they'll want to return.) i do a lot of games with prizes, and other "fun" activities like labs, so usually, kids don't want to leave. good luck! whisper this mantra in your head if you need to: 5 more weeks, 5 more weeks....
