It looks scary....
By gatorgal

Clip to ScrapBook
I am in rural N. Florida and we don't have the kind of tax revenue as larger districts. It is pretty grim.

Our district office sent all staff a survey to get our imput on how to save money.

I have heard
that some people suggested a four day school week for kids and staff. We would save a lot of money on food services and transportation. Our summer staff already does the 4 day work week.

Our principals and all of the department heads at the district have been working really hard to figure out innovative ways to cut back without hurting the kids. I feel really good about them making
good choices because they are seking so much imput.

They haven't handed out pink slips but the board and union agreed to delay the date by which we are to be notified if we aren't hired back.

It will certainly be an interesting year.
