Clip to ScrapBook
I know it's hard not to feel guilty, but you stick to your guns. I am so tired of all the excuses about what's going on at home as explanation as to why a child has not done his or her homework. When I was in school, everyone
did their homework! I am only 26 by the way, so this was not that long ago. I think it is absurd the amount of excuses that are allowed today. School and homework is a child's job first. If the student and the parents have time after homework, then extra curricular stuff can be thrown in. Why should schools say ok baseball, soccer, and dance lessons are perfectly fine excuses
to not doing homework. My hard and fast rule, you decide your homework policy. If they child doesn't do it, no credit. PERIOD.

I work in an urban school where absolutely no emphasis is put on education and its the absolute only way any of my students are getting out of the horrible neighborhood.
