Then, had to go back and read all your posts leading up to today. All I can think to say is....

WOW!

As a former student teacher....and older than the usual while I was. (34when I student taught) I am shocked!

One
of my Co-ops was only 23 years old. She shouldn't have even had a ST yet, but her principal thought highly of her so she was given me. I think she was really worried when she found out I was a Non-Trad. I went above and beyond to make sure I NEVER said anything or refused her advice. Infact, I hated the schools curriculum, but you would have never guessed. She gave me
my own set of teacher manuals, and even when I wasn't teaching I was looking over the lessons and trying to see how what I would have done was different than what she did.

Since she hadn't been teaching long, we didn't have a lot of radically different views on teaching, but it was interesting how she delt with such a 'textbook' driven curriculum.

NOW I teach in a district that has a curriculum but no resources and I would kill to have the books she had available to her. (funny how things always come back at you!)

Anyway, I think you are patient beyond what she deserves. I would INSIST that she not have her personal computer or phone out while she has the class. That's just plain ridiculous!

Good luck and I am looking forward to Monday to hear how her first full week of teaching goes.

I AM TOTALLY ADDICTED TO YOUR STORY!!

Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to reading your book soon. :D
