I really liked sharing

When I first heard about and experienced the co-teaching model, it was very strange because, like what you explain, I didn't teach that much. I taught 1st and 4th in the model. The day was broken into periods and I had| 75 minutes a day for prep. Now that I'm back in the States, I'd give anything for 75 minutes of prep. I acutally finished all my "teacher work" and had time to ..... 'gasp' read a book. We were also departmentalized and I taught Language Arts, Science, and Art in 1st grade and I taught Language Arts and Art in 4th grade. The other subjects were either in their other language or with | |
another specialist. The two biggest factors for room sharing success will be your ability to communicate with each other and creating your own "space" so you feel like you have some ownership.
