butterflies
By ritabook2

Clip to ScrapBook
For the pasta thing we use rice for the egg, penne for the caterpillar, shells for the chrysalis and bowtie for the butterfly. We do this on paper plates divided into four sections. They color a background for each stage and also color the pasta with markers for the caterpillar and the butterfly stages and glue them on the background. Cute!

You can also give them an outline of a butterfly and have them color or paint one side of its wings. Then they trade with someone and have them paint the other side so that it is symmetrical to the first. Or, if you think they won't like sharing their masterpieces ;) just have them paint one side and fold it over to create a symmetrical butterfly.
