Some of the best professional development our district/school has offered has been literacy related. In fact, our new superintendent will be unveiling her new "reading initiative" next month, so I have a feeling more PD will be on the way. Marcia Tate (brain guru) has also visited and offered wonderful ideas. We also had someone come and do a mini-workshop on differentiated instruction.
